“Why record your sale training?” That’s a question I’m often asked by sales directors, CEOs and VPs of Sales. I was listening to a video recently recorded where my good friend Jamie Shanks said he couldn’t believe how many sales training companies also refuse to allow their sales training sessions to be recorded!

The truth is sometimes it’s fear that what goes on behind closed doors will get out (and end up on “you’ve been framed”) or because of fears over their intellectual property.

In this week’s “90 second update” I go into a little more detail as to why you should think about recording not only your sales training sessions, but also other meetings – find out why by watching this short video.

And while I’m thinking about it, why not use it to collect customer case studies and testimonials?

With many people familiar with using free tools like Skype or Google Hangouts, and with other free tools like Easy Screen recorder it’s possible to interviews customer or clients online whilst recording the interaction (with their permission of course) and then use that as a “real time” case study and testimonial.

However, if you’re running live webinars (as we do as part of our Social Selling Mastery Certification Programme) when 10s if not 100s of people are in attendance, then you need a more stable and reliable platform like GoToWebinar. Here you can run and record live polls, multiple webcams, chat Q & As and as soon as your live broadcast is finished upload the .WMV file to your local drive for you to share. We upload to a private Vimeo account, to make is easy to embed into our own Learning Management System (LMS) so that the material is instantly available to busy executives .That could be the business development, sales or marketing departments or as is normal from our open programmes, the CEOs, MDs or Business Owners.

This also allows them to quickly catch up on a webinar they may have missed (due to client meetings or holidays etc.). So don’t be afraid of the technology – give it a go and you’ll find it has massive business benefits

Do you record your sales training or any other type of webinar? Does it help get your message across or improve learning? Maybe you’ve got some neat little tips you can share!
