Using Pinterest to market your hotel or restaurants?

I worked for many years within hospitality, so I understand how busy your lives are. However as a business woman I don’t understand why more owners of leisure and hospitality businesses are not using Pinterest. I put this down to a lack of knowledge of this amazing marketing zone.

What is Pinterest?

Pinterest is a visual discovery tool. It allows people to search the internet through images. With this in mind, think about the beautiful events, wedding and rooms you could showcase for FREE!

Here are 5 reason why you should be on Pinterest.

Pinterest is a favourite with brides as around 79% of Pinterest users are Women. So why not show off your bridal suite, wedding events and food? It is also a good way of letting the bride share her big day with friends and family.

People love searching for delicious dishes, sharing photos, tips and design ideas. In fact according to Compete’s Online Shopper Intelligence Survey, 57% of Pinterest users have searched for food related content. If you are making yummy food why not display it? Get your chef to photograph his work and Pin it, so that others can see what you offer.

Don’t just pin about yourself, create thematic boards taking in mind what your guests’ interests are. Share furniture you think they will like, this is a great way to do market research see what is being re-pinned so you can keep up with the latest fashion.

Share tips, you would be amazed of the number of people that want to know how to set a table for a dinner party or how you make that wonderful sauce for your roast duck. You Cameracan do this through YouTube (that’s right you can pin video!!) or maybe a funky infographic.

Don’t forget if the images you use are taken from your website and it will help to push traffic your way. Creating backlinks to your site is a great way to boosts your internet presence.
